2010 has been a whirlwind year for our family, and it is almost hard to believe that Nicole and I just celebrated our six month anniversary! I have very much enjoyed my time blogging with So You’re Engayged, but it is officially time to say goodbye. I hope that you have all enjoyed our adventure leading up to the wedding, and my many DIY tutorials.
When we sent out our invitations we sent one out to President Obama. I had read that if you send the President an invite you will get back a letter of congratulations. I was expecting to not get anything at all but when we got back from our mini-moon there was an envelope from The White House in our mailbox! We got a very nice letter of congratulations from the President!

You didn’t honestly think I would conclude my experience writing for SYE without doing one last DIY, did you?

I had been saving this post for after the wedding because I really wanted just one thing to be a surprise for our guests, and that was the favors! Nic and I looked at lots of pre-made favors when we were trying to decide what to give. One day while perusing Etsy I stumbled upon a shop that sold etched beer glasses with mustaches. I knew Nic would LOVE them, but I also knew we couldn’t afford them.
When I was in my early teens someone gave me a glass etching kit which I loved to use. My Mom on the other hand, not so thrilled to come home and find her favorite mixing bowls sporting brand new etched flower motifs. So I talked Nic into crafting our very own mustache champagne flutes!!

A few months after the wedding Nicole and I donned our dresses once again, and hit the beach with our photographer extraordinaire Kelly Prizel to trash our dresses! It makes me feel warmer just looking at these photos in the middle of winter so I thought I would share them with all of you.

Some of my favorite photos from our big day are the detail shots. We had a LOT of DIY projects for our wedding, and these photos really highlight all of our hard work! So I thought in addition to sharing these beautiful photos with you I would also link you to the tutorials I created. The above photo is one of my favorites! It shows off the beautiful damask silk-screened tie that we gave to all of our male attendants. Check out how we made it HERE.
My shoes! I had them dyed to match the sash on my dress.
