I am going to start the recapping off by inundating you with images. In writing up all the details of the hours that lead up to our ceremony I realized that they were incredibly boring. While I loved and and appreciated every minute, it’s just not interesting in the retelling. What I’m going to do instead is show you my favorite pictures as a way of giving you a snapshot of hours before the wedding.

The getting ready, at least for my side, was fairly uneventful. But there are beautiful pictures and so I will regal you with them.

A little tid bit about me, I’m obssive about getting to places on time. So myself and my two bridesmaids were ready with plenty of time to spare…which meant there was sometime just to sit around…and that’s what we did.

On Jen’s side of the world things were a little more crowded.  Getting ready with her were her two bridesmaids, the two flower girls, someone to do makeup, someone to do hair, and her mother.

The purple sneakers in the picutres were what Jen wore for the first look, she wore the purple heels for the ceremony. They did hit one slight snafu in the getting ready process. Jen get makeup on the back of her dress (don’t ask me how). You couldn’t see it but there was still a lot of discussion on what to do about it.

I canot stress enough how important it is to know yourself, know how long it will take you to get ready, and to plan plenty of time for that! The one thing you don’t want on your wedding day is feel pressed for time.  After getting ready we staggered leaving the hotel to move to our first look location. Since my room was ready first we left first. And after only making one wrong turn we made it to our first look.

Gorg! And you are totally right about getting ready time. I thought we had more than enough, but we still felt rushed. Definitely err on the side of too much time.

That last picture’s not actually from the make-up-on-dress incident. I’m pretty sure I got the make up on my dress while getting into the car, which is also where I was when I noticed it, and thus why there was all this last-minute scrambling and hunting for a Tide marker (which didn’t do anything for it BTW), and thus why I was running late, despite have been perfectly on time and ahead of schedule the whole day.
