The Save the Dates are ready! We had our local stationer turn the street car artwork into a magnet for us. After ruling out a flower motif or a picture of us, we had trouble finding a unique magnet design. We chose the streetcar as a nod to both Baltimore’s history and our hometown of New Orleans. Now that we are booking a hotel that used to be an old railroad station, these save the dates seem even more appropriate. I decided to use maps of Baltimore to line the envelopes. This weekend, Ginger and I are going to start the Save the Date production line to stuff, stamp, and send ‘em.

To continue with our Baltimore travel theme, my next project is going to be vintage postcard RSVP’s. I’m a HUGE letterpress fan, but gave up on being able to afford letterpress invitations a long time ago. Then I came across Starshaped Press, and fell in love with their affordable invitations made with metal and wood typefaces on an old fashioned press. I think this style (below) fits us perfectly and would look great next to postcards of Baltimore.  It’s a little bit fancy invitation, a little bit concert poster…

I love them! I’m getting married in Baltimore as well. Actually, both my apartment and the church I’m getting married are in Mount Vernon. I can almost see them on the map. ;)
