I found my wedding tuxedo! I received a comment on my last post about trying to find ivory tails from Israel at Tuxedo Fashions. He’d found some ivory colored tails jackets that he’d put aside awhile back. They’d never even been worn and he had a small size he thought would work for me.
Israel agreed to come in on his day off (after coaching his daughter’s co-ed t-ball team to an impressive victory) and show me what he’d found.
This time instead of dragging my poor Best Man along with me I took my bride-to-be, Liz. Smart idea. While I was being measured and then changing into the dress shirt, pants and shoes, Israel invited Liz to step behind the counter and look at all of the colored vests and ties he had to offer. Liz was able to find a combination that isn’t too bright so I could wear both of our main colors without it looking garish.
Once I had the vest and tie on, my heart started to beat a little bit faster. When Israel slipped my arms into the tail coat and I caught sight of myself in the mirror I could not stop grinning. Neither could Liz, who snapped picture after picture.
Liz had a real thing for the shoes. I’m not sure I fully understand her appreciation – I’m not a huge fan of rented shoes of any sort, although I do think bowling shoes look cool – but she said they reminded her of Fred Astaire. And hey, who can argue with that logic?
I am a happy, happy woman.

Wow. Too awesome. You look absolutely fantastic! Such a nice tux, and the vest & tie colours are subtle and classy. So happy for you that you found something you love! *and those shoes ARE pretty swank*
